“Kronach leuchtet” strengthens image of the city

Project manager klaus metzler looks back on a successful "kronach leuchtet" back. The project, which has now outgrown its infancy, is particularly well received at universities, he said.
This year kronach leuchtet is carried out for the eighth time and is to be continued sustainably. Metzler informed that universities in turin and wismar are sending students to kronach and want to integrate the project into their curriculum in the form of a workshop. Metzler also asked to be able to use the help of the building yard again this year and also for a financial subsidy of 5,000 euros.

Advertising effect
"Kronach is now a household name in lighting planning circles. People know that something special is being done in kronach", emphasized rainer kober, chairman of kronach creativ. He was sure that the importance of the event would continue to grow and emphasized the promotional effect for the city. Kronach represents a lighthouse in upper franconia. "Why shouldn't there be a light academy on the fortress at some point??", he was already looking to the future.

"I am extremely grateful", mayor wolfgang beiergroblein () emphasized the commitment of kober and his employees. Michael zwingmann () assumes that the invested money will return to kronach and therefore spoke out for further support. "Excellent, yes, every time different – but my rough concern would be, if every time something would remain. Maybe there are ways that you can always take something on a permanent basis to enjoy the whole year", emphasized heinz hausmann (CSU). With this he spoke from the soul of klaus metzler, who was thinking along similar lines.

"I firmly believe that such projects are of a huge sustainability. And this is very important", emphasized cilly volk (women's list). Bernd liebhardt spoke of the positive image that the city has gained from "kronach leuchtet" received. Therefore he could well imagine an additional support. "If you can demand something with a small share, then you should do it."
Jonas geissler (CSU) asked about the possibility of single lighting in one part of town. Of course you could take up something like that, kober emphasized, but he pointed out the financial risk that kronach creativ alone would bear. Metzler again feared a problem of resources. That is why this is hardly accompanying "kronach leuchtet" possible. In the end, the city council granted a financial subsidy of 5000 euros in addition to the building yard services (maximum 5000 euros).

At the end of the meeting, the mayor addressed the city's economic management, because the SPD had suggested better marketing of the city on several occasions. "I must say one thing clearly. I have close contact with companies. That is a matter for the boss." Although he praised the SPD's commitment to even inquire with companies about a possible settlement, he said that it was not enough. However, this is not purposeful. Beiergroblein addressed limited flat and explained that interesting properties often did not belong to the city at all. "We can't increase the flat areas at will. More is not possible at the moment. I will not be reproached for not being constantly on the move."

Strong movement
"We are already experiencing that there is a strong movement in the market in the retail sector", ralf volkl (SPD) explained. Ten years ago, it would have been unthinkable for a media market, for example, to move to cities like kulmbach. The example of lichtenfels also shows that more and more of these chains are settling in smaller towns. Therefore, it is the duty to ask "how can we get them to kronach, so as not to fall behind". And if the mayor were to talk to interested parties, volkl asked for timely information for the city council.

No criticism
Marina schmitt (SPD) wanted the activities of the SPD to be understood as a contribution and not as a criticism of the city's economic department.

"18 years the SPD had it in its hands. Who has made a wrong city policy here. Why are all the companies gone??", hans-georg simon () found clear words, which were rejected by volkl. "I hate this black and white policy. That is not in order and does not correspond to the truth", he mentioned, for example, real, toom or e-center.
"I can understand that after a year and a half, people ask what has happened", jonas geissler explained, after the kuhnlenzhof was also mentioned. Therefore, he also asked for regular information.

The mayor agreed to this, but feared that this could cause some things to be talked out of hand at an early stage.
